• Seeking out Surveying Specialists/Trainers for our Mining Operated Survey System. The successful candidate will have a background in mining and engineering, with survey experience in underground mining operations, and drill and blasting technologies
• To repair, install and support electronic, microprocessor-based systems and radio communications equipment including, end user training, issue identification and resolution for equipment based on client mine sites and on Leica’s premises
• To address challenging technical issues with current and future products
• Supporting Mining Systems products and systems developed and distributed by NSS Canada for the mining industry, including field work within our customer’s mining operations
• Identifying problems and repairing / replacing equipment
• Training customers in use of equipment and applications
• Training customers in fault identification and component repair / replacement
• Communicating directly with customers and managing customer relationships as required for NSS Canada to best support our customers
• Appropriate paperwork (e.g., timesheets, job cards etc.) to be completed in a timely manner
• Reporting requirements as required by General Manager
• To analyze and facilitate process improvement for technical service department, within sphere of influence
• To establish and expand upon documentation and procedures to improve efficiency
• To use relationships developed with client networks and contacts to advise sales team of potential opportunities for product sales and service arrangements
• Compliance with NSS Canada’s Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures, participation in audits and compliance with instructions given in respect to the health and safety of himself / herself and the safety of others
• Other duties as required from time to time
• Dealing with conflicting priorities
• Maintaining communication flow to Sudbury office from external location
• Keeping up to date with new products and technologies as they are developed
Own Authority
• Setting of day-to-day priorities within overall priority listing
• Make recommendations for service delivery improvements where necessary
• Advising General Manager of business risk areas as they are identified
• Personal responsibility for maintaining required accreditations (statutory requirements and site-specific requirements, e.g., safety inductions etc.)
Education & Credentials:
• Technical Mining Engineering 2- or 3-year program (pre-requisite)
• Undergraduate Degree – Mining Engineering or similar (asset)
• Underground Experience considered an asset
• Driver’s license
• Valid Passport
• Eligible to work in Canada
• French and Spanish speaking (asset)

Travel:
• Substantial travel at short notice (approx. 50% of work time). This is a requirement for the incumbent in this role.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.
This position involves substantial time within an industrial or underground working environment and applicants should be able to work within those conditions.
