Job Summary: The Business Development Manager for an underground mining technology company is responsible for driving business growth and fostering strategic partnerships within the mining industry. This role involves understanding client needs, identifying opportunities, and promoting the company's underground mining technology solutions. The BDM will play a crucial role in expanding the company's market presence, meeting revenue targets, and staying abreast of industry trends.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Analysis and Research:
• Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential clients, market trends, and competitor activities.
• Analyze the underground mining technology landscape and assess opportunities for product/service expansion.
2. Client Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including mining companies, contractors, and industry influencers.
• Understand client needs and challenges to tailor technology solutions that address specific requirements.

3. Sales and Revenue Generation:
• Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and market share growth.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including upselling and cross-selling to existing clients.
4. Product Knowledge and Presentation:
• Stay updated on the latest developments in underground mining technology and the company's product/service offerings.
• Conduct product presentations and demonstrations for clients, showcasing the benefits and features of the technology solutions.
5. Proposal Development:
• Prepare compelling proposals, bid documents, and tender responses in collaboration with technical and engineering teams.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure that proposed solutions align with client requirements.
6. Contract Negotiation:
• Lead contract negotiations and finalize agreements with clients, ensuring terms and conditions are mutually beneficial.
• Collaborate with legal and finance teams to address contractual requirements and risk mitigation.
7. Networking and Industry Events:
• Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote the company's brand and establish a strong industry presence.
• Identify partnership opportunities and potential collaborations within the mining technology sector.
8. Reporting and Analytics:
• Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities.
• Utilize analytics to assess the effectiveness of sales strategies and adjust plans accordingly.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Proven experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the mining or technology industry.
• Strong understanding of underground mining processes and technologies.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel to meet with clients and attend industry events.
